Dr Tim Glenie

MB ChB, FRACP, FCSANZ

Profile

Tim completed his medical degree at Auckland University, then his FRACP in Internal Medicine in 2008. He then started his cardiology training at Greenlane Hospital, completing an advanced imaging fellowship programme involving cardiac MRI and cardiac CT scanning. Tim followed this with a coronary interventional fellowship, also at Greenlane Hospital.

In 2012 Tim worked with Dr Stephen Worthley, an internationally recognised cardiologist, at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia. He was involved in clinical trial work with cardiac MRI, coronary angioplasty and percutaneous aortic valve replacement.

Tim came back to Dunedin Public Hospital in New Zealand as an interventional cardiologist, and was a senior clinical lecturer at Otago Medical School. Since 2015 he has been working in Auckland at North Shore and Ascot hospitals as a general and interventional cardiologist, with a particular interest in cardiac MRI.

"We particularly liked the way Tim explained my heart issue in a way we could understand and gave us the chance to ask questions."
